Well not as a profession, just for the weekend.

For a lot of parent’s, consignments are some of the best bargains around and with two little people off to school in two weeks, I am thrilled at the opportunity to sell some of their stuff that we have been lugging around with each move and the opportunity for some great deals.

A local church is hosting the event Friday August 8 and Saturday August 9, and as one of the cosigners I get first dibs on Thursday, but will most likely leave the kids home as they might expect me to bring the entire hall back home with me.

On another fun note, Ms. H had her first cheerleading practice on Tuesday and another one on Thursday, she already has a buddy whom I hope will be in her class since they seem to get along so well, but my daughter is very open and I have a feeling our home will soon become a hub :).

Mr. H has been improving too, already three practices behind him and already a bruise, and you should have seen his eyes widen like saucers when I told him there was a possibility of seriously getting hurt, but he was reassured when I told him to just be mindful of his surroundings and that he would not be hurt to badly with his protective gear on.

Tooth Fairy’s going rate?

Mr. H lost a second tooth! Of course it was long coming with the loosening, and he was excited when it finally fell out, and reminded all the way going to be, to remember to tell the Tooth Fairy to bring him his tip in exchange for his tooth.

It has been a long time since I lost any teeth, and remember getting $0.25 a tooth, with inflation, I bumped it up to a dollar, I have a feeling I will be paying Henry $5.00 a tooth!

Too early?

When I was younger, my Dad completely ruled out ever giving my brother and I money for anything - he prepared our lunches, together with my Mom did our shopping, it is as if he had a fear that money would ruin us.

Looking at my kids, I don’t want them to mismanage their money, but I also want them to learn now by making mistakes, so my husband and I are considering a weekly allowance in lieu of good behavior and chores a prepaid credit card. Of course we will try try to discourage frivolous spending, and encourage saving.

I am curious how to parents approach this somewhat sensitive issue?
